Protest

A local group planned a demonstration to protest the government shutdown and the president's responsibility for same. The discussion got a little warm; my posts included. Someone complained that they just wanted to organize a get-together not start an argument, so I added this comment:

In Egypt Mubarak used the police and army to capture and torture protesters. He was replaced with Morsi who used the police and his private forces to capture and torture protesters. He was replaced with Sisi who is using the police and the military to capture and torture protesters.

Tomorrow you will make your protest to petition the government for redress of grievances. You will not need to fear the police, the military, or your fellow citizens. The worst that could possibly happen is an exchange of words. Isn't it nice to live in America?
